Railways going paperless
Meanwhile, the Indian Railways has decided to stop pasting reservation charts on train coaches from March 1. This action is limited to A1, A, and B category stations.
This means that travelers need not go to their coaches to verify whether their names are there on the reservation charts. Your names will still be displayed on the charts posted on the wooden boards or displayed electronically.
The idea behind this move is to make Indian Railways become more environment-friendly in the long run.
More airports, more fun
Next time when you are heading from Ajmer to Udaipur, do give a shot at the Kishangarh- Udaipur flight.
Thanks to the Central and State Governments, now you can now take flights which connect towns like Kishangarh and Jaisalmer to other important cities.
Now, Jaisalmer, which is a premier Indian tourist destination, is connected with Bangalore and Mumbai through air connectivity. These flights take anywhere from 6 to 8 hours in reaching their destination and so save your time significantly.
Similarly, new airports are coming up in North-East. Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur are now well- connected with the rest of India. Imphal, Dimapur, and Tripura have flights from Delhi and Kolkata so you have more reasons to travel to the enchanting North-East.
By 2020, India would have 500 airports that will make the country one of the hottest travel destinations in the world. Check the current list of airports that are managed by the Government of India> https://www.aai.aero/
For booking your flights from these airports, it is wiser to use portals like Cleartrip and MakeMyTrip. Sorry to say, Government run portals are a pain in the arm.
